Our next day in Austria was a completely free day. We started off with a Zumba class taught by Taylor. It was kind of hard in the small space but we managed to make it work. It was good to sweat a bit for the first time. We even managed to gather an audience since the boys on the trip would rather watch than participate and Europeans aren’t too big on fitness classes. I hope I don’t have an audience when I work out ever again.
Next, we grabbed some pizza next door at Pinocchio’s before heading out to our rafting trip! It wasn’t exactly the perfect rafting weather considering it was raining and about 30 degrees, but we toughed it out. We had wet suits that were neither flattering nor easy to put on (European women apparently have no thighs). After shimmying into our suits, we headed up the river. The water was freezing! In our boat, we had all girls so we struggled a little. The trip was only a level 3 and since I’ve rafted before, I wish it was a little harder. Probably the most difficult part of the trip was avoiding the guides on the other boats who would splash water on us. Since I was in the front of the boat, I got plenty of “face lifts”. Not pleasant.
Luckily our boat survived. Another boat in our group had some serious struggles when their guide told them to all get out of the boat when it wasn’t parked. Yikes.
After being in the cold, we all rushed to the spa and sauna downstairs. It was so nice! There was a steam room, two aromatherapy rooms, a room that headed your spine and the pool. Yeah, I was in heaven.
That evening we had another four course meal and did some more group bonding for the night.
